I enjoy creating characters that are wonderfully complicated. They keep secrets, make terrible decisions, and refuse to follow my carefully outlined plan. It's a challenging working relationship.

When I'm not writing, I'm dreaming up new twists, arguing with fictional people, and telling myself I'll stop after "just one more chapter."
